Athena Analytics are dedicated to supporting schools in unlocking the potential of every student, that is why, we created an event that celebrates health, vitality, and athleticism – Kerry’s Fittest School Competition ‘23/’24. This groundbreaking competition has inspired the next generation, embracing an active lifestyle while determining the fittest school in the kingdom, all under the banner of Athena FitnessMark, our cloud-based software dedicated to promoting fitness and wellness in schools.
On October 27th we held our first ever competition, under the Ireland’s Fittest School umbrella, where schools from across the county came together in Gaelcholáiste Chiarraí competing to be the very best in their county.
It consisted of four Transition Year students from each school (2 male and 2 female). Single-sex schools were encouraged to collaborate with another school to participate.
The students engaged in ten performance-related fitness tests designed to challenge their strength, endurance, agility, and more. The event promoted teamwork, determination, and a commitment to physical well-being, all facilitated by Athena FitnessMark.
Kerry was just our first stop in a nationwide journey that will ultimately determine who is Ireland’s Fittest School. Stay tuned to our Twitter and Instagram accounts where the next competition will be announced soon.
