The Athena Tracker Legacy Partner Programme Explained
At Athena, we help teachers and school leaders better understand each student’s potential and progress, so they can see more clearly whether students are achieving what they’re capable of.
The Athena Tracker Legacy Partner Programme builds on this work by recognising schools that have consistently embraced this approach over a number of years to support student progress and help every learner reach their full potential.
Each year, Athena Analytics recognises its Legacy Partners with an official certificate, a digital badge, and an annual announcement every September, celebrating the schools across Ireland who are leading the way in data-informed practice.
The aim of the Legacy Partner Programme is to recognise long-term commitment while also supporting continued development within schools.
Recognition and Support for Legacy Partners
Alongside this recognition, Legacy Partner schools also receive a range of practical supports to help continue developing their use of the Athena Tracker.
Official Legacy Partner certification
A physical certificate recognising the school’s long-term commitment to using academic tracking to support student progress.
Digital Legacy Partner badge for school use
The Legacy Partner badge is a mark of sustained commitment to academic tracking and student support. Schools can display it on their website, email signatures, and social media as a visible sign of how they approach student progress in everyday practice.
In-person plaque presentation
An opportunity for Athena to visit the school and formally mark the achievement, while also recognising the staff involved. This can also be supported with a local press release celebrating the school’s achievement.
One complimentary place at an Athena Tracker Workshop for a staff member
These in-person workshops bring together staff from different schools in a collaborative learning environment. Sessions are led by members of the Athena team and focus on the practical, day-to-day use of the Tracker. Workshops are available at Beginner, Advanced and Mixed levels, with plenty of opportunity to share ideas and learn from other schools
Local press release celebrating the achievement
A PR opportunity to highlight the school’s long-term commitment to data-informed practice and student support within the wider community.
Who Can Become a Legacy Partner?
To be eligible for Legacy Partner status, schools need to demonstrate long-term, meaningful use of the Athena Tracker across their day-to-day practice. This is about sustained use and meaningful integration across the school, where the system becomes part of everyday practice.
A school must:
- Have used the Athena Tracker for at least five years
- Have fully embedded it into daily school practice
- Have completed the Athena Tracker training programme
- Show a long-term commitment to using academic tracking to support student potential
Spotlight: Kildare Town Community School
Kildare Town Community School (pictured above) has worked with Athena Analytics for five years and has recently renewed its partnership for a further five, continuing their long-standing focus on supporting student progress through data-informed practice.
Principal John Hayes shared his experience: “It has been an absolute pleasure working with Athena Analytics over the past five years. We are equally excited to have committed to another five years together, as we deeply value the insight and clarity your data provides.
“Your work continues to play a key role in helping us identify trends, enhance our strategies, and ultimately support the academic success of our students.”
This reflects the kind of long-term collaboration that underpins the Legacy Partner Programme.
What This Represents
The Legacy Partner Programme is about more than recognition. It reflects a long-term commitment to using academic tracking in a way that genuinely supports student progress. Legacy Partner schools have made this part of how they work day to day, shaping how they understand and respond to student progress across the school.
Each September, new Legacy Partners are announced, recognising schools across Ireland that are continuing to build on this work. For schools already on that journey, it’s a chance to take stock of how far they’ve come and think about what comes next.
